Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to invite you to the  International Symposium on Applied Geoinformatics (ISAG2019), which will take place at the Yildiz Technical University, Davutpaşa Campus, Istanbul, Turkey, on November 7-9, 2019.

The symposium is organised with the aim of promoting the advancements in the field of Geoinformatics. In the event, we will explore the latest scientific and technological developments and opportunities which would help the Geoinformatics community to solve the many real-world challenges of today.

The International Symposium on Applied Geoinformatics (ISAG2019) will serve as a forum for participants across the globe to deliberate on the latest advancements in the field of Geoinformatics. The symposium is jointly organized by the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey and the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, University of Latvia, Riga, Latvia.

The paradigm of geospatial information management is changing rapidly due to technological advancements in data acquisition, processing and storage. Innovative techniques need to be investigated to cope with increasing demand for highly accurate and reliable information acquisition from the earth’s surface which can be applied to counter various challenges such as global warming, urbanization, effective use of natural resources, environmental management. Furthermore, information for representing the built and human environment benefits widely from new technologies and innovative approaches. Therefore, this symposium will provide good opportunities for innovative knowledge exchange among researchers working in this domain.

Our main aim is to bring researchers to share knowledge and their experience about state-of-art developments in the field of Geoinformatics. We wish to discuss the latest developments, opportunities and challenges that can help the Geoinformatics community to solve many real-world challenges.

Additionally, a special session will be dedicated to master and doctoral students that is planned to serve as a platform for discussions of ongoing MSc and PhD researches. The discussant will lead 15 minutes feedback/discussion session of the MSc and PhD studies. The abstract should state the research question and provide an overview of the issues, research design and methods.  MSc and PhD Student’s advisors and senior researchers are highly welcomed.

We would like to encourage you to participate in this ISAG2019. We look forward to welcoming you in Istanbul in November 2019.

Yours sincerely,
